Your correspondent fancies himself as a bit of a green thumb, and so takes an interest in things meteorological, and particularly how much it has rained. If you have a similar interest, did you know that the Melbourne Water has an automatic rain gauge at Caulfield North (I suspect on the racecourse) linked to their web-site? It records pretty much the same rainfall as my rain gauge at home, so I should think is a good indicator for the rainfall in Carnegie. You can find it here. It has historical information going back 12 months, and comparisons with last year’s rainfall.
I am afraid to say, for all those gardeners out there, that this spring has been rather dry compared to last year. Over October and November this year we’ve received about half of the rainfall we got last year.
