Goodbye to Eva’s

I saw the other day that Eva’s breakfast and lunch bar in Koornang Road has closed. I’m always sorry to see one of our shops or cafés close, particularly one that as far as I know has been part of the street for at least 10 years.

One presumes the business wasn’t viable, otherwise it would have been sold to someone else. However change as they say is inevitable, particularly with two new cafés, Platform 3 and Spilt Milk, having opened in the last few months. Then again I felt the same way when the original Brumby’s bakery closed, particularly as its proprietor Sawa was always so friendly, but it’s closure meant that the Europa cake shop opened. So we’ll have to wait and see what replaces Eva’s.
